Abstract: 

Background and purpose: Presently, computers and the development of information technology have resolved many limitations in the health and medical arena, and have also opened many doors to improve communication, information and ability for better patient care, in health and medical care provider centers. Moreover, they have many applications such as virtual reality, medical data-bank, tele-health, expert systems and information-networks. The purpose of this study was to evaluate reporting software of ADS9 counteri’s program.Materials and methods: This research is a descriptive study which was performed in 2008. Population of this study include employees in office of statistics of Medical Universities in Iran, that work in conjunction with Hospimp software and is answerable regarding Hospimp software in the Ministry of Health and Medical Education. For data collection, researcher used a two-part questionnaire for evaluating general and specified criteria pertaining to the software. The analysis of data was used in descriptive manner with SPSS. The grade of variables studied in this research involved: evaluation of general properties, specified properties, statistical reporting, data-bases, goal of groups and aim of the program with Hospimp software, that is, in average 37.5, 22.58, 41.66, 57.14, 36.36 and 27.27, with a standard deviations of 0.09, 0.08, 0.15, 0.2, 0.15 and 0.14.Results: Technical tissue fall in the slide was not observed. 93.93 % of SCC was stained by p63. None of the small cell carcinoma was stained by p63. In the first 2 months, 53.34% of distained section’s had similar staining intensity, compared with re-cut sections, 46.66% of cases were decreased in staining intensity and none were negative.Conclusion: Generally, in the evaluated dimensions, Hospimp software has more blind spots rather than strength spots. General properties of the software have a better intensity level, than its specified properties. In order to improve and develop useable software’s in the health and medical arenas, we will recommend the development of international standards in designing, production, testing, measuring and software conservation.

Abstract: 

Background and Aim: Inadequate management of biomedical Waste can be associated with risks to healthcare workers, patients, communities and their environment. In this study a comprehensive survey was conducted to obtain information on the management of solid Wastes in Qom Hospitals.Materials and Methods: Field visits were made to 2 private and 4 governmental Hospitals to collect the required information and weighing the solid Wastes generated. In addition, supplementary information was collected using a modified World Health Organization questionnaire.Results: The results showed total the average generation rate of solid Waste in Qom Hospitals was 3057.55 kg/day. The shares of general, infectious, sharp, and pharmaceutical and chemical solid Wastes were 1523.6, 1520.6, 12.72 and 0.93 kg/day, respectively. The results on various aspects of solid Waste management indicate that practices in the Hospitals do not comply with the principles stated in the respective Iranian regulations. Similarly, the segregation process was inefficient. No information was available concerning the quantity and quality of solid Wastes.Conclusion: Development of suitable Waste management schemes and plans are strongly recommended. In addition, establishing training programs on proper Waste management for all the personnel involved (managers, physicians, nurses, workers) are essential. These actions, plus effective supervision, will result in considerable reductions in Hospital solid Waste disposal cost.

Abstract: 

Background: Waste materials are a matter of concern in most societies. In our country there is no documented analysis of these Waste materials, thus, the resent study was designed to analyze the Hospital Wastes physically. Materials and methods: It was a descriptive study. Samples were gathered from Hospital Wastes of Shah id Beheshti, Shabih Khani, Matini, Naqavi, and Akhavan. Totally, 60 samples were gathered during the study. Then, a 50-kg sample was prepared, for which, Waste analysis was performed according to different particles. Results: Totally, 15012 kg Wastes were gathered. Shah id Beheshti had the highest and Matini the lowest Wastes. Different particles were as follow: decayed materials 15.7%, plastic 13%, papers 5%, cloth 4.5%, glass 3.7%, metals 2.1%, and nylon 1.9%. Average monthly amount of Waste for each Shahid Beheshti Hospital bed was 2.9 kg, for Naqavi, Shabih Khani, Matini and Akhavan Hospitals were 3.6, 5.9, 4.5, and 3.7 kg, respectively.Conclusion: The monthly average amount of Wastes is high in Kashan Hospitals. It is worth surveying.

Abstract: 

Aims: This study was to determine the status of Waste production in one of the Hospitals of Tehran, in order to identify the sources and methods of reducing produced Waste. Methods: This is an intervention field study. Effective procedures of produced Waste reduction were carried out and their effects were followed. Data was collected by direct vision and filling checklists by questioners and was analyzed by SPSS13. Results: Separating and separate collection of general and infectious Hospital Wastes were done in 96% of wards by 10% of cooperation among doctors and 40% of cooperation among nurses. From the most effective ways of reducing Hospital Waste production was the necessity of existance of a purchasing pattern, warehousing, distribution and consumption of items and equipment and supplies with emphasize to produced Waste reduction proportionated to the needs of the Hospital. D espite of the 10% increasing number of patients admitted during the study than a year before, the Waste production was reduced 20%. Conclusion: By performing simple programs in Hospital, Waste production can be controled and reduced. Reducing the cost of Hospital Waste management and reduction of its bioenvironmental dangers were also attained by identifying and performing economic and technical methods of produced Waste reduction or elimination.

Abstract: 

Introduction: Evaluation of Hospital information system (HIS) is a complex endeavor, in which all human, technical and organizational aspects should be considered. This study aimed to develop indicators for HIS evaluation.Methods: Present qualitative study was carried out through a cross-sectional method in 2012 in Kerman province, using Delphi technique. Given the objectives of this study, three independent phases were performed including literature review, providing draft indicators for HIS evaluation and reaching consensus. Required data were obtained through interviews and designed forms. Twenty-three experts composed the study population in interview and reaching consensus phases. Validity and reliability were confirmed through content validity and test-retest method, respectively. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics.Results: Final set of indicators for HIS evaluation consisted of ninety-one indicators under 8 main topics, i.e. technical quality, software quality, architecture and interface quality, vendor quality, after-sale services quality, workflow support quality, support department, outcome quality and HIS cost.Conclusion: Given the complexity of information system evaluation, all human, technical and organizational aspects have to be taken into account in any evaluation. Proposed indicators provide the possibility of comprehensive evaluation of HIS.
